Designing a career that fits your life now.
Your priorities change. Your career can too. A few reflections on making different choices without starting from zero.

The career that suited you at thirty was designed by someone with different constraints, different energy and a different definition of a good week.
It is reasonable for that design to change. What is unreasonable is expecting the change to happen by itself.
Start from the week, not the title
Describe the working week you want in plain terms: how much travel, how much visibility, how much responsibility for other people, how much time that is genuinely yours. Then look at which roles could hold that shape.
A career that fits your life is a design decision, not a compromise.
Most people find they do not need a dramatic exit. They need two or three deliberate choices, made in the right order.
